InfoEdit

Phenomenal rock musician considered to be one of the greatest if not the greatest of all time. Revolutionized the language of the electric guitar. Died in 1969 of an overdose. The artwork for the album Axis: Bold as Love was originally intended to commemorate his apparent Native American heritage, but the use of the word Indian was misinterpreted as East Indian, which was a popular fad at the time, and a psychedelic style Hindu cover was used instead. His song Little Wing was successfully covered by Stevie Ray Vaughan. His album Electric Ladyland originally had a picture of naked women, but was later censored to feature just a picture of Jimi. To this date unfinished albums are being released with phenomenal success. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Jimi Hendrix Experience. His song Purple Haze has the misheard lyric "Scuse me while I kiss this guy". The actual lyric is "Scuse me while I kiss the sky". He did a somewhat controversial rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
