Broke up in the mid seventies in a concert filmed as The Last Waltz (a film for which they did not receive any money). They have since had several reunions. Two gold albums with The Band going platinum. Several other hit albums. Their performances with Dylan went gold. Their first two live albums went gold. With Dylan the first went platinum and the second went gold. Their first compilation went gold. Greatest Hits was a minor hit. Tributed Woody Guthrie and Buddy Holly. Several hit singles. Numerous honors, awards, and tributes. Have influenced many artists. Originally known as The Hawks. Multiple halls of fame. Performed on Saturday Night Live. Performed with Emmylou Harris and The Staple Singers.
