Tammi Terrell was a soul musician best known for her work with Marvin Gaye. She also performed for James Brown. With Gaye, Terrell scored seven top forty hits. Covered Stevie Wonder and The Isley Brothers. Opened for The Temptations. Died of brain cancer in 1970 at the age of 24. Her death was part of the inspiration for the Gaye hit What's Going On.
