InfoEdit

The Eagles are a popular country rock band whose greatest hits, released before their popular album Hotel California, outsold any of their regular albums. Members Joe Walsh and Don Henley went on to have successful solo careers. Upon their reunion, the band included some of Walsh and Henley's solo work in their concerts. The song Hotel California features the line "They stabbed it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast.". This is an allusion to being mentioned in a Steely Dan song.

Hotel California also features the lines:

So I called up the captain, "Please bring me my wine." and he said "We haven't had that spirit here since 1969.".

Henley has been addressed regarding the fact that wine is not a spirit, but he has claimed that the word has a different meaning.

Glen Frey died in 2016 of complications from surgery.
